About Modeler

IBM's Modeler Flows for Watson Studio is a drag-and-drop node editor that allows business analysts and burgeoning data scientists to create AI models without having to know how to code in R or Python.

My role did not previously exist as there had not been a dedicated designer assigned to Modeler over the last several years. My challenge was that net new users were confused by the power of the product and were given little guidance upon arrival. However, legacy users were turned off by the lack of parity with the classic desktop version of the product.

Over the last year, I have worked seamlessly with Offering Management to encourage prioritization according to the needs found in our design research.
